| Mission
and Vision:
Taking
our cue from the Baptismal Covenant, the mission of St. Paul’s
is to proclaim by word and example the good news of God in Christ.
Our vision, the way we live out that mission, is multifaceted.
We are first and foremost a worshipping community. All that
we do is informed by our identity as faithful disciples of the
risen Christ, which has its foundations and nurturing through
the spiritual disciplines of a community at worship. Among those
disciplines, hospitality and service to our communities are
of particular importance to us. We are a community who respects
and welcomes all into our midst, regardless of who they are
or where they may be on their spiritual journey. Likewise, we
endeavor to build up the body of Christ and witness to the good
news by serving and giving of our resources, both within the
St. Paul’s community, as well as to the larger communities
of Columbus, our nation, and the world.
Values:
At St. Paul’s, we value our connection with historical
Anglican traditions, such as scripture, tradition, and reason
each a means of Gods revelation, the via media, and unity in
diversity. We uphold the traditional orthodox formularies of
the scriptures, the Creeds, the sacraments (primarily Baptism
and Eucharist), and this historic episcopate. We recognize and
value every person as made in the image of God, welcome the
gifts that diversity affords, and seek to equip all the saints
in the ministry to which they are called by virtue of their
baptism. We will continue to embody the mission, vision, and
values of St. Paul’s as an Episcopal Church in the Diocese
of Indianapolis.
